Guarding The Haven
$20.90
The novel Guarding The Haven is a fictional take on the battle that ensued after a multi-national enterprise tried to build an immense salt plant at Laguna San Ignacio, a huge salt-water lagoon next to the Pacific Ocean and halfway down the Baja California peninsula. The book notably delves into enigmatic environmental concerns, mainly on the need to protect our natural resources, but at the same time take care of the needs of the human species. The essence of the novel, though, has to do with unsung heroes. There are many of those included in the plot, but the main ones are Alejandra, her husband Manuel, and their nine-year-old daughter Juanita. The tiny village where they live, called La Laguna by visitors and local dwellers, is an isolated hamlet someplace along the southern arm of that iconic lagoon. The stage is shared with the gray whales from the waters off Alaska, which yearly visit Laguna San Ignacio during the winter months.
